If you like sports video games, you might want to give these games a try.
There are a lot of sports games for video games, and they cover almost every sport you can think of. There is a game for fans of every sport, from motorsports to snowboarding and every racket sport in between. What’s even better is that most of the big sports, like football, basketball, and Formula 1, have their own franchises, which have been around for a long time and have a lot of support. Most of the time, these franchises are tied to deals with top publishers like EA, 2K, and Activision.
This is a shame because it means that smaller developers don’t have much room to make their own versions of popular sports games. Before all these big deals came along, these kinds of titles were very common in the 1990s and 1980s. Even back then, though, most sports games had a lot of sequels and spin-offs. There are some gems from the past that people have forgotten, especially because they didn’t get a sequel or follow-up.
NHL Open Ice

This was an arcade game for Ice Hockey that came out in 1995. This game was basically a parody of ice hockey, with funny, over-the-top hockey play, but it worked really well. The person who made the game is a big fan of the sport, and it shows. Even a reference to Mortal Kombat is in NHL Open Ice.
The game has a lot of different ways to play, like Exhibition, Season, and Playoffs. This gives players a lot of options for how to play. The game play is great for its time, and the enemies are well-designed. I also turns out to be pretty good. There should have been more entries.
Mutant League Football

Mutant League Football was a lot like American Football, but with mutants instead of humans. It came out for the Sega Genesis in the early 1990s, and people still think of it as a cult classic. The game has a list of mutant teams and players, each with their own special skills and traits that make each game feel different and unpredictable.
There are seven people on each team. They can be robots, aliens, skeletons, or trolls. The names of the players are also jokes based on real players and teams. The best thing about the game is that each team has two chances to bribe the referee to get penalties. The referees can also be killed, which makes a tougher ref take their place. This game was a lot of fun, and even though a “spiritual successor” is now available online, it’s not even close to the original.
Kelly Slater’s Pro Surfer

This game came out in the early 2000s, when extreme sports games like the Tony Hawk Pro Skater and Matt Hoffman’s Pro BMX series were all the rage. So, Kelly Slater’s Pro Surfer always had a hard time competing with series that had been around for a long time. This was mostly because surfing wasn’t as popular a sport as baseball or football.
Kelly Slater’s Pro Surfer was a very good video game, even with these problems. It was easy to play and had good graphics for the time. It was fun to surf, and nothing about it felt like work. Kelly Slater’s Pro Surfer had more than a dozen different levels and a strong group of surfers, including the star of the game himself, as well as secret stars like Tony Hawk. This game was different and fun, and it’s a shame that it’s not as well-known as it could or should be.
WWE All Stars

WWE All Stars is a video game about pro wrestling that came out in 2011. As the name of the game suggests, it has a team of famous WWE Superstars. The game was very different from the other Raw vs. Smackdown games. It didn’t have as much anger or adrenaline, and it didn’t take itself too seriously. Instead, the game had funny character models and moves and special moves that were way too much. It was a fun twist on the usual style of wrestling games, and it’s too bad there wasn’t a sequel or spin-off.
The creation mode in WWE All Stars is one of the best parts. It lets players make their own wrestlers from scratch. Players can choose from many different body types, clothes, and accessories, and they can even make their own entrance music and finishing moves. The game is fast-paced and full of action, with a focus on silly, arcade-style fun. The controls are pretty good, and most of the special moves are high-flying, arena-destroying monsters.
NCAA Basketball 10
NCAA Basketball 10 was different from other games in a strange way. This game, which came out in 2010, was different from other basketball games because it focused on college basketball and let players play through the NCAA Division 1 Championship.
In terms of graphics, they were good. The character models looked good, and the arenas were accurate and colorful. Slope Game was smooth and easy to play, and there were no bugs or missing parts that made it hard to follow. With the environments, rosters, lighting, and camera angles, the game did a surprisingly good job of making it feel like a college basketball game. Overall, NCAA Basketball 10 was a great game. It’s too bad that it doesn’t get more attention.
