What is the law saying about gas safety check-ups?
According to the Gas Safety (Installation and Use) Regulations 1998, landlords must ensure that gas appliances, pipes and flues in secure state. Each year an annual gas safety inspection is required and the gas safety certificate must be secured to prove that the necessary standards are met.
The annual check has to be conducted within 12 months from the previous one. The certificate is valid for renewal for up to two months before the due date.
